HOMEDESIGNSARCHITECTUREEMOTION
DECEMBER 6TH 2019

Mental health is becoming increasingly important to the stability of our society. Our senses are overloaded with constant information and this intense amount of swallowed information becomes volatile if not checked. These emotion maps began as a response to a series of three bicycle accidents I was involved in that led to panic and anxiety attacks. Everyone's brain is wired differently, and therapy was not helping to resolve my pain, so I developed a way for me to manage my emotions. I sit down with a blank sheet of paper at the end of the day and work through anything that happened. I grab my pen and close my eyes, and begin to draw a line which changes alongside my changing emotions. There are clearly moments of doubt, frustration, anger, hatred, annoyance, happiness, calmness, etc. This set is from letting someone go that was dear to me in December of 2019. The intensity of this session caused tears and a bloody nose to drip onto the page as my eyes were closed.

NOVEMBER 15TH 2019

These sessions were on separate dates during my panic attacks in November of 2019. The process varied slightly in response to the intensity I was feeling that day. The image above from November 15th was my first session in response to a bicycle accident on September 24th of 2019. After my normal process of creating the line, I took it digitally to rationalize my emotions with the rest of myself. I filled in certain regions with a gray or black that signified how extreme each emotion was. In the case of November 21st, I was not healed enough by the time I had finished so I decided to continue by adding words along the lines.
